What a license is.
This is a working draft, not a law firm’s opinion. Polar (or whoever sits in commerce.js) is the merchant of record for the card charge.
Seat
One human. The native hosts that exist (Mac, Windows, iOS, Android) as they ship. Exactly one audio device per session, same as the engine. A club that wants two booths buys two seats.
Monthly
$10 USD per month. Licensed while the subscription is current. Cancel in the Polar customer portal. After the period ends, keep mixing only if you still have a valid seat (lifetime, or a new month).
Lifetime
$150 USD once. A paid-up license for this generation of UDJ: the booth you can run today, and updates that do not start a new numbered generation. It is not a claim on Pioneer HID, Ableton Link, phrase sync, or any unbuilt feature in the business plan.
Offline
A set must not depend on the license server. Activation can happen on a network; the mix does not.
What you are not buying
A mixer in the browser. Pioneer HID. rekordbox. A promise that a USB stick, CDJ, or DJM will be supported by AlphaTheta. Support beyond best-effort email until a host is actually posted on Download.
Refunds
Handled by the merchant of record’s policy (Polar’s default unless we publish a stricter one). Chargebacks go to them; we cooperate.
Source
Paying is permission to run UDJ as a booth, not a requirement to compile it. If that split becomes unworkable, this page will say so before checkout goes live.
